And She Dreams

Her mind comes alive when the candles burn out

Her eyes dart this way and that like the hawk intent on his prey

Her hair like golden locks of sunshine

Falling

Cascading

Glowing in the midnight

She is like a deer

Bounding down the beaten path of the unknown

Moving in perfect beat with her heart

And in the faint dust she stumbles

Crashing

Falling

Gravity refusing to stop

He ensnares her with his arms of love

Sweeter then honey

Stronger then the great oak

Surer then the sun

His touch is warm like a fire in the dead of winter

Soft like a blanket of velvet

His scent he leaves behind him like the slippery wet trail left behind an early October rain

Her thoughts become cluttered like leaves descending in mid September

Once again she tumbles

Falling

Crashing

Plunging into the silky warm blankets of a bed ready made

For dreams o're take her

She sleeps in sweet peace tonight
